Cellulite is the lumpy substance resembling cottage cheese, or an orange peel, that is commonly found in women on the hips, thighs, and buttocks. Cellulite is not a different kind of fat, but it can be more visible than fat deeper in the body. Even thin people suffer from cellulite, because we all have layers of fat just below the surface of the skin. As the fat cells move into upper layers of the skin and enlarge, they push through the connecting fibers, which stay the same size, causing the dimpling effect on the outer skin. TriPollar® treatments improve cellulite appearance by selectively heating the fat cells in both the deep and superficial layers of the skin, causing them to secrete liquid fat and shrink in size. The heating also increases the blood circulation in the area, accelerating metabolism that physically helps the lymphatic system dispose of the fatty acids naturally. |
